Rhythme was a Dutch jazz magazine which was published from 1949 until 1961. Following the example of American magazine Down Beat, Rhythme also started doing reader's polls and from 1958 to 1960 they issued three EP's with recordings of a band which was made up of all the winning soloists from each category. This band was called "The Rhythme All Stars".
EP 1: The Rhythme All Stars 1958 (Columbia SEGH 52, Holland, 1958)
Musicians: Ado Broodboom (trumpet), Cees Smal (trombone), Toon van Vliet (tenor sax), Herman Schoonderwalt (bariton sax), Peter Schilperoort (clarinet), Coen van Nassou (vibes), Eddie Doorenbos (vocals side B), Rob Madna (piano), Hank Wood (bass) and John Engels (drums).
Side A: Reading Rhythme.
Side B: Little Girl, Please Be Kind.
