Les interprétations ici gravées furent décisives pour sa qualification. Deze publieke opname werd rechtstreeks gemaakt, en zonder verbeteringen, tijdens de uitvoering die Valery Afanassiev gaf op 1 juni 1972 te Brussel, in de grote zaal van het Paleis voor Schone Kunsten, ter gelegenheid van de eindproeven van de Internationale Wedstrijd Koningin Elisabeth 1972, in tegenwoordigheid van Hare Majesteit de Koninging der Belgen.
