A second collection of 1920s South side jazz featuring the great traditional clarinetist All selections were recorded in Chicago and originally appeared on the Paramount label. [A1, A2: Oct.1926 [A3: April 1928 [A4, A5: April 1927 [A6, A7: May 1926 [B1 to B4: August 1926 [B5: Dec. 1927 [B6: August 1927 [B7: Feb. 1929 [B1 to B4: Trombone credited as unknown [B7 : Guitar, Vocal are credited as unknown, Piano as probably Jimmy Blythe Re-recorded to tape and mastered by Ray Hagerty from material provided by John Steiner and others. In reprocessing this material in 1969, every effort has been made to compensate for the severe technical limitations of early recording and manufacture by optimum expert use of modern noise suppression and filtering equipment. At the same time, original tone qualities have been retained to the greatest extent possible and no artificial enhancement or rechanneling has been introduced. Reissued by special arrangement with John Steiner.
