Tracks 1-1 to 1-7 recorded in New York City, September 5-7, 1959. Tracks 2-1 to 2-7 recorded at Capitol Records Studio, Los Angeles, CA, and Fine Sound Studio, New York City, August 2 and 27, 1957. When originally released in 1958, the album " Blues In Time " was called "Gerry Mulligan Paul Desmond Quartet." On the album is a track called "Blues In Time". For whatever reason, probably marketing, at some point a decision was made to name the album "Blues In Time". But "Blues In Time" was not the name of the album when it was first released.
