Von einigen Alben wurden mehrere Versionen (Pressungen) veröffentlicht. Es gibt die erste Pressung, die für Sammler sehr wertvoll sein kann. Wenn diese ausverkauft ist, wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt, die Repress oder Neuauflage genannt wird. Diese können sich leicht unterscheiden, z. B. durch eine andere Hülle oder schwereres Vinyl.
Manchmal werden ältere Alben neu gemastert, um die Klangqualität zu verbessern. Auch dafür wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt. Unterschiede im Artwork oder kleine Produktionsfehler können eine bestimmte Version attraktiver machen.
Was macht den Preisunterschied aus?
Bei Platten, die nicht neu sind, wird der Marktwert durch Seltenheit und den Zustand sowohl der Platte als auch der Hülle bestimmt. Die Preisgestaltung basiert auf Angebot und Nachfrage und ob eine Version limitiert oder nummeriert ist.
Welche Variante soll ich wählen?
Wenn es hauptsächlich um die Musik geht, ist eine Repress eine gute Wahl. Eine Original- oder nummerierte Ausgabe hat eine andere Art von Anziehungskraft.

General notes about this release (please note: our version may differ a little. see the comments above):
"Rock from rare small labels" is an LP title that could be given to many of our releases as a large number of great boppers from small local labels have seen the day of light so far on our series and yet only the surface of the thousands of private labels that existed in the famous 50's has been issued. Research is still carried out and and even today new (old) things are located. In a large number of cases the artists recorded their original ideas and others recorded famous songs. Both categories are presented here. Ronny Hines presents nice versions of "I've got a woman" and "That's All Right". This last song is also here by Dwain Louis from California in a really fantastic version. Freddie Flynn's "Green Stamps" and "Hazel" are nice rockers, originally recorded for Lyric Records. "Big Chief Buffalo Nickle" sounds very promising and is worth listening to. Coy Werlet and Haskell May are both from the West-Coast which is also the case with The Starfires who recorded their "Space Needle" for Round Records which was not available at the time we issued other material from this label. Arnie Ginsburg made only two records, both are presented here. It is amazing that he never made any other records. Arnie Ginsburg's friend Wayne Parker is also present in this LP with "Ginger", recorded for Velvet Voice Records. Starving' Marvin (Paul) lives in Texas and the "Bubble Gum Boogie" by Curley Rash and the South Texas Playboys also comes from this great State. Curley Rash recorded this song for the rare Houston CBR label on which Jim McBride is the vocalist.
