Von einigen Alben wurden mehrere Versionen (Pressungen) veröffentlicht. Es gibt die erste Pressung, die für Sammler sehr wertvoll sein kann. Wenn diese ausverkauft ist, wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt, die Repress oder Neuauflage genannt wird. Diese können sich leicht unterscheiden, z. B. durch eine andere Hülle oder schwereres Vinyl.
Manchmal werden ältere Alben neu gemastert, um die Klangqualität zu verbessern. Auch dafür wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt. Unterschiede im Artwork oder kleine Produktionsfehler können eine bestimmte Version attraktiver machen.
Was macht den Preisunterschied aus?
Bei Platten, die nicht neu sind, wird der Marktwert durch Seltenheit und den Zustand sowohl der Platte als auch der Hülle bestimmt. Die Preisgestaltung basiert auf Angebot und Nachfrage und ob eine Version limitiert oder nummeriert ist.
Welche Variante soll ich wählen?
Wenn es hauptsächlich um die Musik geht, ist eine Repress eine gute Wahl. Eine Original- oder nummerierte Ausgabe hat eine andere Art von Anziehungskraft.

Though credited as a featured artist, [a85470 does not appear on this release. He allegedly sang on a different recorded version of the title track.

One day a charity bizarre was held in the grounds of a very large and beautiful house and Vincent and I were invited along to give tarot readings.
Inside the conservatory, surrounded by lush hangings of grape vine, we spread the cards time and time again.
We told story at the story for an endless queue of people but the day was just not long enough to be with everyone.
So, when everyone else had gone home, the remaining books had been packed, the paintings put away and the money counted, we lay out a spread of cards for all the people we didn't see.
It told us your story and it told you ours.
We call it Taro Rota
