Ennio Morricone was an Italian composer and conductor, born in Rome in 1928. He became world-famous for his film music, including unforgettable scores for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, “Once Upon a Time in the West” and “A Fistful of Dollars”. His innovative use of choirs, harmonicas and even gunshot sounds gave his compositions a unique character. An unusual fact is that Morricone only won his first Oscar in 2007 for The Hateful Eight, even though by then he had already written over 500 soundtracks.
