British guitarist and singer Eric Clapton is regarded as one of the greatest blues and rock musicians of all time. Known for songs like "Layla", "Tears in Heaven" and "Wonderful Tonight", Eric Clapton built a remarkable solo career alongside his work with bands such as Cream and Derek and the Dominos. His virtuosic guitar playing earned him the nickname Slowhand, a name that became synonymous with his style. Interestingly, Eric Clapton wrote "Layla" about his secret love for Pattie Boyd, who at the time was married to his friend George Harrison of The Beatles.
