Recorded live on January 16, 1938 at Carnegie Hall, New York. Remastered from Benny Goodman's own copy of the original lacquers, and including audience announcements and applause. Originally released 1950. 1-3 and 2-16 were originally released unofficially on a collector's LP, Sunbeam 127. Tracks 2-20 to 2-28 feature Benny Goodman's comments about the tunes, and were released originally for DJs on a 12" 78rpm record. Dates of composition as listed on booklet: 1910 (Track 1-9), 1917 (1-6), 1920 (1-8), 1924 (1-19), 1926 (2-4), 1927 (1-3, 1-7, 1-18, 2-1), 1929 (1-14, 2-9), 1930 (1-16, 1-20), 1931 (2-5), 1932 (2-7), 1933 (2-10), 1934 (1-2, 2-16, 2-18), 1935 (1-4), 1936 (1-10, 2-14), 1937 (1-12, 2-12). © 1950, 1999 Sony Music Entertainment Inc. ______ Housed in a double plastic jewel case containing a 40-page illustrated booklet.
