General notes about this release (please note: our version may differ a little. see the comments above):
Recorded live December 18, 1959 at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Paris.
This historic meeting on stage of seven giants is owed to Marcel Romano.
The later supervised among others the sessions for "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (lift to the scaffold)", "Les liaisons dangereuses" and "Des femmes disparaissent", brought the Jazz Messengers to France for the first time and revealed to the public the young prodigy Barney Wilen. The genius of Marcel Romano behind the scenes makes him one of the giants of Jazz himself.
This reissue is dedicated to him.
