This box with 4 CDs is a cardboard slipcase numbered at the back and bottom 00289 4428427. It is the 2006 edition of the 'De Volkskrant Muziekcollectie Wereldmuziek' [Music-collection World series. 'De Volkskrant' is a Dutch daily newspaper.
For a good understanding of the title of CD1 ‘O Descobridor Cristina Branco Canta Slauerhoff' is translated 'The Discoverer Cristina Branco Sings Slauerhoff'.
CD1 [m899759 is accompanied by a booklet of 43 pages, CD2 [m963012 by a booklet of 20 pages, CD3 [m246158 by a booklet of 24 pages and CD4 [m246186 by a booklet of 16 pages. The booklet of CD1 is in Dutch and has a full translation of text and songs in Portuguese, French and English. The other 3 booklets are in Portuguese and have full translation of text and songs in French and English.
CD1 tracks 1-1, 1-2, 1-5 to 1-9, 1-11, 1-12 were recorded from 3rd to 6th November 1999 in Bonifacius Church of Leeuwarden, The Netherlands (with Siltech cables and valve technique), tracks 1-3, 1-4, 1-10 from 21st to 24th January 2002 in the Misericórdia Church in Santarém, Spain.
CD2 is a tribute to Portuguese fado singer Amália Rodrigues with the much appreciated help of her band members José Fontes Rocha, Jorge Fernando and Joel Pina and was recorded at Studio Pé de Vento, Portugal in January 2001.
CD3 was also recorded at Pé de Vento between September and December 2002, except 'O meu amor', which was recorded at Studio Right Track, New York in October 2002.
CD4 was recorded and mastered at Studio Pé de Vento between June and September 2004
