What does the record grading mean?

We grade each record using the Goldmine Standard. Full explanation can be found here.

M (Mint) – Unplayed, still sealed in original packaging.

NM (Near Mint) – Played a few times, no defects; cover almost like new.

VG+ (Very Good Plus) – Light signs of use, plays excellent; minimal cover wear.

VG (Very Good) – Clearly used, audible noise or clicks; worn cover.

G (Good) – Heavily played, noise likely; cover with visible damage.

Generic – Original cover missing, record comes in a generic sleeve.

Comments:
sleeve is a bit wobbly, nothing to serious, priced accordingly! vinyl is excellent, closer to near mint!
€22,99

What determines the price?

Why is one record cheaper than another?

Some albums were released in multiple versions (pressings). There is the first pressing, which can be very valuable to collectors. When that stock runs out, a new pressing is made, called a repress or re-issue. These are often slightly different, such as a different sleeve or heavier vinyl.

Sometimes older albums are remastered, improving the sound quality. A new pressing is made for this as well. Differences in artwork or small production errors can also make a specific version more attractive.

What makes the difference in price?

For records that are not new, the market value is determined by scarcity and the condition of both the record and the sleeve. Pricing is based on supply and demand, and whether a version is limited or numbered.

Which variant should I choose?

If it’s mainly about the music, a repress is a good choice. An original or numbered edition has a different kind of appeal.

General notes about this release (please note: our version may differ a little. see the comments above):

Original UK release.
First catalogue number on cover and labels, second (EMI international catalogue number) in parentheses on cover back.

Cover swopping is common on this LP so it is important to define a 1st press cover correctly:
• Original releases have a darker fully textured gatefold cover (depicting five b&w live photos inside) - the texturing is deep and defined, the spine is thicker, and the cover is thick. The opening edges have one 'flat sealed' at the factory, and the other open. The cover is also of '1 piece' manufacture - folding over at the bottom and glued internally at the top.

Any cover that is thinner, has small texturing or less defined texturing, is paler, is smooth, is a '2 piece' cover (glued internally at the top and bottom), or has 1 edge 'folded over' and factory sealed is a later cover and is not original.

Labels:
• 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd.' appears at the beginning of the circular text on both labels - later copies have 'EMI Records' instead.
• 'Made in Gt. Britain' appears at the bottom of both labels.

Initial quantities contain a thick paper lyrics insert printed in purple on both sides - this was discontinued in 1973.

All original pressings are housed in a polylined EMI/Harvest paper inner sleeve depicting other artists' current releases on the Harvest label - this inner sleeve was discontinued in 1974.

A2 appears as "No No No" on cover, but as "No, No, No" on label.
A4 appears as "Anyone's Daughter" on cover, but as "Anyones Daughter" on label.
