Wolf Cub Village was commissioned by and composed for the Nieuw Ensemble. The opera received its world premiere on 24 June 1994 in Amsterdam, in a Holland Festival / Nieuw Ensemble production. This compact disc is a live recording of the work's third performance, given on June 26, 1994.
