This release is a reissue; original version first released in 1956 as a "Mozart Bicentennial Commemorative Issue 1756 - 1956", as is printed at top of back cover. The year marked Mozart's 200th birthday. The original 1956 version was released in mono; the reissue has been, quote: "Electronically re-recorded to simulate stereo". The liner notes by Alfred Einstein on the back cover are taken from his book "Mozart: His Character, His Work", which was first published in 1945.
