What determines the price?

Why is one record cheaper than another?

Some albums were released in multiple versions (pressings). There is the first pressing, which can be very valuable to collectors. When that stock runs out, a new pressing is made, called a repress or re-issue. These are often slightly different, such as a different sleeve or heavier vinyl.

Sometimes older albums are remastered, improving the sound quality. A new pressing is made for this as well. Differences in artwork or small production errors can also make a specific version more attractive.

What makes the difference in price?

For records that are not new, the market value is determined by scarcity and the condition of both the record and the sleeve. Pricing is based on supply and demand, and whether a version is limited or numbered.

Which variant should I choose?

If it’s mainly about the music, a repress is a good choice. An original or numbered edition has a different kind of appeal.

General notes about this release (please note: our version may differ a little. see the comments above):

Solo Piano recording

Written on the back of the cover:
"Recorded July 5th 1971 at Victor Studio, Tokyo"

and

"A Nippon Phonogram Recording. Originally released on Japanese Philips RJ-5001."

Release year: There is no information about release year on the sleeve or label on this release (Sackville 2005). The next cat# in the Sackville cat# series (Sackville 2006) was released in 1974, so it's likely that the Teddy Wilson album (Sackville 2005) was released some time around 1974 as well.

Release Country: There's no information about release country on cover or label. From Discogs Help Forum I've been informed, that Sackville is a canadian label, so this was submitted. Supporting this is the fact that japanese releases normally has liner notes, credits and tracknames written in japanese as well. Cover on this release has japanese writings on it but this seems more like artwork.
