Wat is ultrasone reiniging?
Vanaf nu passen we bij iedere plaat boven de €50,- een nieuwe service toe: we reinigen de plaat ultrasoon. Kort gezegd houdt het in dat een plaat gereinigd wordt door zeer hoogfrequente geluidsgolven in een speciaal platenbadje. Hierna komt de plaat er droog en ontdaan van alle stof weer stralend uit.
Uiteraard kan een kras of een scuff nooit ontdaan worden, maar ultrasoon brengt een vuile plaat weer tot leven en tot zijn maximale potentie: eenmaal uit bad, is de LP weer spic en span en dat verschil zul je horen! Voorheen onder stof of door vette vingers bedolven informatie komt weer goed tot z'n recht en zo klinkt alles weer een stuk meer helder.
Nog gesealde platen blijven uiteraard gewoon gesealed!
Some albums were released in multiple versions (pressings). There is the first pressing, which can be very valuable to collectors. When that stock runs out, a new pressing is made, called a repress or re-issue. These are often slightly different, such as a different sleeve or heavier vinyl.
Sometimes older albums are remastered, improving the sound quality. A new pressing is made for this as well. Differences in artwork or small production errors can also make a specific version more attractive.
What makes the difference in price?
For records that are not new, the market value is determined by scarcity and the condition of both the record and the sleeve. Pricing is based on supply and demand, and whether a version is limited or numbered.
Which variant should I choose?
If it’s mainly about the music, a repress is a good choice. An original or numbered edition has a different kind of appeal.

Side A: YEX 749-4
Side B: YEX 750-2U

The YEX 749-4 side was cut by Harry T. Moss on Oct 31st 1975 (source: EMI tape box notes from the MFSL boxset).
The YEX 750-2U side was cut by Apple engineer Malcolm Davies on ~1971.
In addition some varying letters (mother/stamper codes) or engineer initials can be present.
Full laminated sleeve and housed in standard white EMI inner sleeve. Light green label with “An E.M.I. Recording” text on two lines. Publishing year printed with big copyright symbol Ⓟ in labels.
