Waarom is de ene plaat zoveel goedkoper dan een andere?
Van sommige albums uit het verleden zijn meerdere versies (persingen) gemaakt. Zo is er de eerste persing, die voor echte liefhebbers van grote waarde is. Als die voorraad op is, wordt er opnieuw geperst: een repress of re-issue. Deze verschilt vaak iets van het origineel, bijvoorbeeld door een andere hoes of zwaarder vinyl.
Soms wordt een ouder album opnieuw gemasterd, waardoor het geluid beter wordt. Ook dan wordt er een nieuwe persing gemaakt. Verschillen in artwork of kleine foutjes tijdens een persing kunnen een versie extra aantrekkelijk maken.
Wat maakt het verschil in prijs?
Bij platen die niet nieuw zijn, wordt de marktwaarde bepaald door schaarste en de conditie van de plaat en de hoes. We prijzen op basis van vraag en aanbod en nemen mee of een versie gelimiteerd of genummerd is.
Welke variant kies ik?
Als het om de muziek gaat, kies je voor een repress. Een origineel of genummerde variant heeft een andere soort aantrekkingskracht.

Housed in a tipped-on heavyweight gatefold jacket printed in full color with spot-metallic ink and spot-matte varnish. The LP is pressed on 180g vinyl and housed in a 4-color printed dust sleeve with a center hole cut to display the record label on either side. The 7" is housed in a printed dust sleeve. Includes a folded 12" x 48" poster (printed in full color on both sides) featuring a collage of film stills specially photographed and captured from the GY!BE live 16mm projections and a download code card to be used from 15th October 2012.
