Waarom is de ene plaat zoveel goedkoper dan een andere?
Van sommige albums uit het verleden zijn meerdere versies (persingen) gemaakt. Zo is er de eerste persing, die voor echte liefhebbers van grote waarde is. Als die voorraad op is, wordt er opnieuw geperst: een repress of re-issue. Deze verschilt vaak iets van het origineel, bijvoorbeeld door een andere hoes of zwaarder vinyl.
Soms wordt een ouder album opnieuw gemasterd, waardoor het geluid beter wordt. Ook dan wordt er een nieuwe persing gemaakt. Verschillen in artwork of kleine foutjes tijdens een persing kunnen een versie extra aantrekkelijk maken.
Wat maakt het verschil in prijs?
Bij platen die niet nieuw zijn, wordt de marktwaarde bepaald door schaarste en de conditie van de plaat en de hoes. We prijzen op basis van vraag en aanbod en nemen mee of een versie gelimiteerd of genummerd is.
Welke variant kies ik?
Als het om de muziek gaat, kies je voor een repress. Een origineel of genummerde variant heeft een andere soort aantrekkingskracht.

This release was outsourced by Record Service Alsdorf for a pressing at Teldec-Press GmbH ('<T>'). They used both, Alsdorf stampers based on Alsdorf lacquers (A-side) and Alsdorf stampers based on U.S. made metal masters (B-side).

As identified by their specific pattern inside the runout matrices:
A-side - lacquers and the plating (masters/fathers, metal mothers and stampers) have been made by Record Service Alsdorf (acc. to 'H' and 'R/S Alsdorf'), whose stampers had outsourced by Record Service Alsdorf for a pressing by Teldec-Press GmbH ('<T>').
B-side - father discs were plated at Sheffield Lab Matrix (acc. to the 'delta' number '△ #####-X') as subcontractor for the Allied Record Company, who plated the mother discs for other pressing plants outside the U.S. market (acc. to 'B-INTL-2', '[Allied 'ɑ' logo').
